Define infectious agents. Classify diseases on the basis of infectious diseases.

Infectious agents are organisms capable of causing infection.
I think your question should be classification of diseases on the basis of infectious agents. Answer for the same is:
  1. Bacterial infections: ex. Tuberculosis
  2. Viral infections: AIDS, hepatitis, herpes
  3. Fungal infections: infections caused by Candida etc
Also the WHO has classified various infectious agents according to their relative risk. These groups are:
  1. Risk group 1: The microorganism has no or very low individual and community risk.
  2. Risk group 2: The microorganism has moderate individual risk and low community risk.
  3. Risk group 3: The pathogen has high individual risk but low community risk.
  4. Risk group 4: The microorganism possess both high individual and community risk.
