Momentum of an object is defined as the product of its mass and velocity. 

p = m × v 
where p is momentum, m is mass of the body and v is the velocity of the body. 
SI unit of momentum is
  
Force can be expressed in terms of momentum as

$$\begin{gathered} P = mv \\ \frac{P}{t}=m\frac{v}{t}=ma =F \end{gathered}$$
So rate of momentum is equal to force applied.
