Define writ .

Dear student,

Writ is defined as an order issued by court or judicial authority having the sanctity of a written legal document. It guides a person or entity to perform an activity or to stop performing a deed or action. The writs issued by the Supreme Court of India to defend people's liberties are Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Prohibition, Quo Warranto, Certiorari.
