1. Paleolithic age or old stone age is a prehistoric period of human history distinguished by the use of very simple or primitive stone tools. It covers the phase of human history from about 2.6 million years ago to about 10,000 years ago.

2. Mesolithic age was between palaeolithic and neolithic age. It covers the time span from about 10,000 BC to 5,000 BC and was marked by the beginnings of agriculture. Tools were still made of stone but was slightly more sophisticated than Paleolithic ones. 

3. Neolithic or new stone age was the last stone age period and was marked by the development of agriculture. It lasted from about 5000 BC to 2500 BC and ended with the development of metal tools.

4. Burial refers to the burial of dead bodies in specially designated sites. Early humans practised this widely.
