Describe a method to determine the density of an irregular solid with a suitable diagram

Dear Student,
The density of an irregular solid can be determined using Archimedes principle as follows:
1. Weigh the solid in a weighing balance to find its mass, M.
2. Take a known initial volume of water in a measuring cylinder.
3. Allow the solid to completely dip into the water.
4. Find the rise in the water level and determine the final volume of water.
5. Subtract the final water volume with its initial volume. This will give you the volume of the irregular solid.
6. Divide the mass of the solid with the volume obtained. The value of this ratio is the density of the solid.
