1- these forests are evergreen. It means they do not shed their leaves in any seasons
2- these forests are very dense.
3- these forest are restricted to heavy rainfall areas of the western ghats and the island group of Andaman& Nicobar ,upper parts of Assam and Tamil Nadu Coast. They are at their best in areas having more than 200cm of rainfall.
4- ebony, mahogany,rosewood,rubber and cinchona are important trees of these forests.
5- common animals found in these forests are elephant,monkey,lemur,deer.
