describe in your own words one painting from this chapter which suggests that the british were more powerful than indians.how does the artist depict this?

This is the pic during the defeat of Mir quasim in the battle of buxar. It clearly depicts that the sultan is admitting his defeat . British loved to paint what showed of their superiority.

Hope it helps!

The aurial and dashwood families of calcutta painted by johann zafarr suggest that the british were the more powerful that indians. Indians were shown as submissive ,asinferiors,as serving their white masters whereas the british were shown as superiors,as imperious:they flaunt their clothes, standregally or sit arrogantly, and live a life of luxury. Indians are never at the centre of such paintings;they usually occupy a shadowy background.

i hope this helps..
