She thought of how she suffered when she watched for Danny but still there was no sign of him and this ached her. He recalled how her brother Geoff had told her that Danny Casey would never come and how none of her friends believed when she had told them that she had met her. She was worried about what she would say to her friends and others if Danny did not turn up. But still she thought about the nice time she and Danny had and concluded how people's thoughts were beyond one's control. However, she was upset to think that she could not show her friends and others how wrong they were in doubting her.
