Describe structure and function of bone

Bone is made up of two types of tissues:-

1. Compact (cortical) tissue: These are continuous and hard made up of compact tissue which provides the strength to the skeleton.

2. Trabecular (spongy) tissue: These are made up of many intersegmental disc which allows the flow of blood vessels and bone marrow. These intersegmental discs are very useful for tolerating heavy pressures on bone.

Along with this bone has various type of cells such as osteoblast and osteoclasts performing different types of functions.   

Functions of bone
1 It provides shape and skeletal support to the body
2 It forms skeleton.
