Describe the advantages that Indians had when they participated in the legislatures which
were set up as a result of the elections of 1937.

Dear student,
Elections were held in 1937 to all Provincial legislatures and ministries throughout British India. These elections were partially democratic but it had its own advantages for the Indians.

1. It had helped the Indians to gain experience in the working of legislative institutions. Later ,when Indian Constitution makers have formed their own institutions it took inspiration from the legislative institutions that developed after 1937 elections.
2.Many institutional details and procedures have been adopted by the Indian Constitution from the colonial laws especially the Government of India Act, 1935.
I hope this will help you.
