After coming back from office Kezia's father would always call out for tea, the newspaper and his slippers. This was a routine. That day the mother had called out for Kezia (Kass was her nickname) and had asked her to come down and take off her father's boots if she was a good girl. She came down slowly, delaying going to the smoking room's door.
