Describe the effects of human activities in influencing natural ecosystem cycles with special reference to carbon cycle.
Dear student
Please refer the solution below for the said query
Human activities such as burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas etc) and deforestation has resulted in the disturbance in the carbon cycle. These human activities increase the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere which results in a change in the global climate and melting of glaciers. The burning of fossil fuels adds CO2 in the atmosphere increasing its level. Due to deforestation, there are less number of plants to utilise CO2 for photosynthesis that also increases CO2 in atmosphere. These all activities, therefore create an imbalance in the carbon cycle.
Hope this information clears your doubt about the topic.
