describe the exploits of canterville ghost in the disguise of reckless rupert.

Reckless Rupert or the Headless Earl was one of the ghost's most celebrated characters. He had not appeared in this guise for more than seventy years, not since he had so frightened pretty Lady Barbara Modish so that she suddenly broke off her engagement with the present Lord Canterville's grandfather. She ran away to Gretna Green with handsome Jack Castletown declaring that nothing would induce her to marry into a family that allowed such a horrible phantom to walk up and down the terrace at twilight. Castletown was later on shot by Lord Canterville in a duel on Wandsworth Common and Lady Barbara died of a broken heart at Tunbridge Wells before the year was out. For the ghost, it was one of his greatest successes. It required an extremely difficult make-up so to speak, a full three hours of preparation.
