Gonds live all over central India. Scholars believe Gonds settled in Gondwana, now known as eastern Madhya Pradesh.Theyalso live in the states of Maharashtra and Orissa.
Administrative system of Gond kingdom
a. The large Gond tribe was divided into many smaller clans.
b. Each clan had its own raja or rai.
c. The administrative system of these kingdoms was centralised and he kingdom was divided into garhs.
d. Each garh was controlled by a particular Gond clan.
e. Garh was sub divided into chaurasi that was split up to barhots, 12 villages.
