Describe the rise of satavahana dynasty.
Initially the Satavahana rulers were known as lords of the dakshinapatha. But somewhere around 2100 years ago there came Gautamiputra Shri Satakarni, son of Gautami Balashri who became one of the most important rulers of the Satavahana dynasty.
He sent his troupes to the eastern, western and southern coasts and conquered most of the areas. His whereabouts were known through the inscriptions in praise of him composed by his mother.
