Describe the statement " Withdrawal or retreat of monsoon is a more gradual process"??
It is a gradual process as:
The pattern is reversed around mid-September in the north western states of India.
It is the result of differential heating of the land and the adjoining water bodies like Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean, which still retain a high temperature cause an exaggerated difference in pressure conditions.
By the mid October the monsoon which are the seasonal winds withdraw completely from northern part of India.
In the souther part of India the withdrawal is rapid .
It results into precipitation in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu during winter.
By December monsoon withdraws completely from India.
