Describe the types of serial communities colonize the area during ecological succession

Dear student,
The correct word is seral community
Following are the types of seral communities:-
1) Hydrosere:- It is a primary succession occurring on water bodies like ponds and lakes. The water body dries out and converts into marshes and swamps. Water body is converted to land community.Pioneer community include diatoms while climax community include forest, grassland etc. Example kettlelake in sweetmere.
2) Lithosere:- Succession occurring on rocks originating from volcanic eruptions, tectonic uplift etc. Pioneer species are cyanobacteria and algae while climax community is oak and ash tree etc.
3) Psammosere:- Succession occurring on coastal sand. Salt tolerant species are the pioneer species while climax community is oak tree.
4) Xerosere:-It may include psammosere and lithosere. Succession occurring on places lacking water availability like desert sand, desert rocks. Pioneer species is lichen while climax community is spruces, firs etc.
5) Halosere:- Succession occurring on saline places like salt marsh. Pioneer species includes algae, eel etc while climax community includes grasses, sea lavender etc.
