DID AERATION CHANGE THE ODOUR ?

Aeration:

  • Aeration is the process that follows the process of clarification of waste water. Air is pumped into the water so that the aerobic bacteria (bacteria which need oxygen to survive), can grow in it. These bacteria consume human wastes, food wastes, soaps and other pollutants that remain in the clarified water.
  • Process of aeration is done to help the aerobic bacteria grow and decompose the waste material. Decomposition of waste material produces smell. Aeration might not be totally effective in reducing the smell of the waste.
  • So, change in odor takes place.
