Did women have a revolution in France in 1789 and after?

Yes, women in France too took active part in the French revolution in 1789 and after.

During the Revolutionary years, they started their own political clubs, journals and newspaper. They demanded equal political rights like men, hold political posts and elected to the Assembly. The revolutionary government introduced laws that helped improve the lives of women
Education was made compulsory for all girls. Their fathers could no longer force them into marriage against their will. Marriage was made into a contract entered into freely and registered under civil law. Divorce was made legal, and could be applied for by both women and men
.

But the women i France had to fight for political rights for a longer period of time which they attained in the first half of the 20th century only.
