Root hairs

Trichomes are fine outgrowths or appendages found on plants and some protists.  Trichomes can be of many types which include unicellular, multicellular and glandular hairs and scales found on the various parts of the plant.

Root hairs are the tiny outgrowths of the roots that help in absorption of water and minerals from the soil.
