Difference between biomolecules and metabolites is given below:-
Biomolecules | Metabolites |
Any organic molecule which is involved during metabolism by a living organism is called a biomolecule. It can range from simple glucose to macromolecules like proteins and steroids.
Example: primary metabolite, secondary metabolite, proteins, steroids etc. |
Metabolites are substances or intermediates including products, produced during metabolism. Sum total of all the chemical reactions going on in cell is called metabolism. Example: antibiotics, resin, terpenes etc. |
