Difference between gravity and gravitation

Dear Student!

Gravitational force is a universal force acting between any two bodies. On the other hand, gravity is a name given to gravitational force between Earth and any other body.
So, you can say that gravity is a type of universal force of gravitation. These two terms are often used to explain same thing, but there is a definite difference as mentioned above.

Gravitation is the attractive force existing between any two objects that have mass. The force of gravitation pulls objects together. Gravity is the gravitational force that occurs between the earth and other bodies. Gravity is the force acting to pull objects toward the earth.
