difference between Mansabdars and Jagirdars ?

Mansabdars were high ranking officials in the Mughal empire. They governed the empire and commanded its armies in the name of the emperor. Mansabdars were compensated for their services either through salary in case or by being assigned jagirs.

Jagirs referred to tracts of land that were assigned to a mansabdar. The mansabdar who received a jagir had the right to collect revenue from the jagir and retain a portion of the revenue as his personal income.

Thus, those mansabdars who were assigned jagirs were also called jagirdars. Hence, jagirdars were a subset of mansabdars. All jagirdars were mansabdars but not all mansabdars were jagirdars.
