Difference between semen and seminal plasma

 Seminal plasma forms a part of semen. Seminal plasma contains mucus from accessory and various secretions of accessory glands. It is rich in calcium, fructose, ascorbic acid etc. It helps in providing nourishment to sperms.

Semen is an organic fluid in which sperms are present. It consists of sperms and seminal plasma. It is secreted by the male gonads and seminal vesicles (glands present in males). It consists of sperms, enzymes, fructose, citrate, flavins, galactose, mucus etc.

Seminal plasma and semen together forms the seminal secretion.
