difference between small intestine and large intestine

The small intestine is longer than the large intestine, although it has a smaller width. The small intestine is between the the stomach and and the large intestine. The large intestine is the last part of the digestive system. The Large intestine absorbs water, nutrients and salts. The small intestine absorbs carbohydrates, protein, fats, minerals and vitamins. Small intestine has finger-like projections (called villi) while these are absent in large intestine.
