It is the process of separating grains from the
harvested crop and comes before the process of
winnowing
Winnowing is the process of removing grains
from the chaff using the help of wind

It is done by beating the wheat or any other
crop on wood or some other hard surface to bring out the
separation
The grain along with chaff is held The heavier
grain comes down and lighter chaff is blown away by
wind
