Difference between trade winds and westerlies

Trade wind blow from east to west and westerlies blow from west to east. Trade wind blo near the equator where as westerlies blow in the middle latitudes.

The trade winds blow in the tropics between the sub-tropical high pressure belt to the equitorial low pressure belt between 30°N and 30°S. Whereas, Westerlies blow from the Horse latitudes' Sub Tropical High Pressure Belts to the Sub Polar Low Pressure belts in the temperate latitudes between 30° and 60°S of the equator.

In trade winds, they are deflected to the right og their course in the Northern Hemisphere to become the North East Trades and to the left of their course in the Southern Hemisphere to become the South East Trades In westerlies, they are deflected to their right to become the South Westerlies in the Northern Hemisphere and to their left to become the North Westerlies in the Southern Hemisphere
