Differencebetween mass andcharge

Dear Student,

Mass is the quantity of matter in a body regardless of its volume or of any forces acting on it.
Electric charge is the physical property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in an electromagnetic field.
Following are the notable differences:
  1. Charge is of two types (positive and negative), but mass is only of one type.
  2. There are two types of forces (attraction and repulsion) between charges, but there is only one type of force (attraction) between masses.
  3. Charge is quantized, but quantization of mass is not established yet.
  4. Charge is conserved, but mass alone is not conserved (Mass +Energy is conserved)
  5. Charge cannot exist without a mass, but mass can exist without a net charge.
Regards
