Differences between hydrophobic and hydrophilic fabrics shall be explained !

Dear Student,

Difference between a hydrophobic and hydrophillic fabric can be explained with a simple activity:

Place a drop of water on the fabric, if the fabric absorbs the water drop, it is hydrophillic (hydro means water and phillic means loving), for example cotton absorbs water, so it a hydrophillic fabric.

If the fabric does not absorb water, it is hydrophobic (hydro means water and phobic means fearing or hating), for example, polyester does not absorb water, so it is a hydrophobic fabric.

Hope its clear now.

Enjoy learning!!
