Differentiate between-: a) Signs and symptoms of a disease. b) Pathogens and Vectors c) Vaccines and antibiotics

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

a.
Signs Symptoms
Signs are indicative conditions or factors which the doctor sees. Symptoms are the conditions and characters which the person feels.
Signs are objective. They are visible and can be quantified and verified. Symptoms are subjective. They are not physically visible and can not be verified.
For example: High temperature, Rapid pulse rate, low blood pressure, wound, etc. are the signs of a disease. For example: Chills, shivering, nausea, shaking, dizziness, tiredness are the symptoms of the disease.

b.
Pathogen Vector
Pathogens are microorganisms that cause diseases. Vectors are organisms that transmit the disease by carrying pathogen from infected person to healthy person.
They are mainly microorganisms They are mainly animals like insects
Example: bacteria, virus, protozoa. Example: mosquito, snail, rat etc.

c.
Antibiotics
Vaccines
In case of antibiotics products of one microorganism acts upon the other microorganism The agent can be a suspension of killed or attenuated microbes, or a substance that mimics the disease-causing microbes. This is known as a vaccine.
Has nothing to do with the immunity, antibiotics directly acts upon the disease causing microorganism Vaccines stimulates the immune system

Dear Student,

a) A symptom is a phenomenon that is experienced by the individual affected by the disease, while a sign is a phenomenon that can be detected by someone other than the individual affected by the disease. For examples, anxiety, pain, and fatigue are all symptoms.

b)A pathogen is an agent that causes disease, such as a virus, bacterium, protozoan, or parasite. A vector is an organism, often an arthropod, that carries a pathogen to its host. So, for example, for malaria the pathogen is a protozoan called Plasmodium, and the vector is a mosquito called Anopheles.

c)There are many different types of antibiotics and they act on the bacteria indifferent ways. Some antibiotics act by killing the bacteria while others prevent the bacteria from multiplying, leaving your own immune system to 'mop them up'.Vaccines are used to prevent infection, particularly viral infections.

Thankyou
Hope this helps you a lot!!
