Differentiate between Consumers International and COPRA

Consumer International  COPRA
a.  Consumer International is basically a World federation comprising of consumer groups serving as the Global voice and forum for venting consumer concerns

Consumer Protection Act  1986,  that is COPRA is an act or law  enacted by the Union Parliament  of India, for the country as a whole.

 
b. It is based in England , and was established in 1960 and is considered to be a watchdog safeguarding rights of consumers.

By virtue of this act , the central and state governments were to set up separate department of consumer affairs to look after the interest of the consumers and address their grievances.

 
c. It aims at generating and creating awareness among the consumers. Consumer international seeks to hold business organisation, corporations responsible and accountable for their acts. As per the act Consumer protection councils are established at the central, state and district level.
