differentiate between dialysis and electrodialysis

Dialysis -
A process of purification of colloidal solutions, like blood. In this process, the dissolved substance is removed from the colloidal solution by means of diffusion through a suitable membrane.
It can be defined as the process of separation of molecules or particles of different sizes by means of differential diffusion through a semi-permeable membrane.
Electrodialysis -
It is a process in which electrodes of opposite charges are placed in either side of the membrane, and the rate can be increased by the presence of an electric potential across the membrane by making use of an ion-selective membrane.
