Differentiate between germ and a pathogen.
Is there any difference between vector and a carrier.
Germs is a general tern used for bacteria. All germs don't cause disease. Pathogens are microorganisms that cause diseases in humans, animals and plants. They can be bacteria, fungi or virus.
Vectors and carriers are same. They don't cause disease themselves but act as a mean to transfer disease from infected person to other. They carry infectious agent causing disease along with them and hence named carriers or vectors. A vector is an organism that passes on a disease without getting sick. The vector harbors pathogen mostly for short time. The vectors may act as intermediate host for the completion of part of life cycle of pathogen. For example mosquitoes act as vectors carrying malaria causing protozoa from infected person and transfer it to healthy person by biting.
