Differentiate between polychromatic and monochromatic light.

Polychromatic light is a light having multiple optical frequencies. They consist of more than one wavelength. White light is a polychromatic light as it is made up of seven component colours i.e., light with different frequencies or wavelengths.

Monochromatic light is a light having a single frequency or wavelength. Light from a Na lamp is a monochromatic light.
