Differentiate between the functions of sex hormones and sex chromosomes

Hormones are the chemical substances that are released by the endocrine glands. They affect the activity of any other body part. They act as messengers which control and coordinate activities throughout the body. Sex hormones bring about certain changes in the reproductive system of an organism.
Chromosomes are the thread-like structures present in the nucleic acid inside the nucleus of each and every cell in the body. They contain genetic information in the form of genes. Sex chromosomes determine the sex of an (unborn) organism.
