DIFFRENCE BETWEEN LIKE AND AS
Dear Student,
Both the words are used for comparisons. However, there are certain grammatical rules that highlight the difference between the two. They are as follows:
Like is used when the compared item is a noun/pronoun or a gerund. Example- Jane wants to be like her mother hen she grows up.
As is used when the compared item is either a verb, or a clause or a preposition. Example- She copied the work as it is.
