Digital watches use pendulum as timing device
True or False?

Dear student,
False statement.
Explanation:
Digital watches use tiny quartz crystal as a timing device. When connected to a battery a small amount of steady current passes through the quartz crystal, its starts vibrating, and these vibrations are received by a silicon chip, which is inbuilt in the watch. Now the silicon chip converted the vibration to pulses, that pulse determine the number or time which will be seen on the screen of the digital watch.
Whereas pendulum is used in pendulum clocks, viz Grandfather's clock.

Dear student,

False
Digital watches do not use pendulum as timing device

This is because, pendulum provides ossicilations which are carried out from back to forth and vice-versa. But in digital watches, Tiny quartz crystals inside the digital watch vibrate at a steady rate when an electric current from a battery is applied.

Regards.
