Directing is that process of management which initiates action towards the desired goals of the organisation. It integrates individual efforts and channelise them towards common organisational goals. It motivates the employees to bring out their best possible contribution in the organisational goals and, it also ensures that the wastage of time and efforts is minimised. Therefore, directing can be regarded as the heart of the management process.
