discuss the continuity of the function f defined by f(x)=1/x, x not qual to zero

I didnt underdtand what ncert book has explained. Can u explain this tp me with the help of rd sharma techque .Thanku

the given function is:  

since any number divided by zero is not defined thus the function is not defined at x = 0.

and f(x) = 1/x is not defined at x = 0. hence it is not continuous at x = 0.
