discuss the formation of peptide linkage???

The peptide linkage is the formation of a peptide bond between two amino acids. The initiator tRNA brings methionine (or formyl methionine in bacteria) to the P site in ribosome. This requires the hydrolysis of GTP by IF2. When a polypetidyl chain is present on P site the next amino acid to be added is brought by aminoacyl tRNA synthetase to the A site. The polypetidyl chain from P site is then transferred to the A site and this action is brought about by the peptidyl transferase present in the larger subunit of ribosome. The addition of amino acid is due to the codon and anticodon interaction on mRNA and tRNA respectively.
