Discuss the seed as physiological enigma

 Seeds contains the embryoes which is basically the new plant in miniature - and are structurally and physiologically equipped for their role as dispersal units and are well provided with food reserves to sustain the growing seedling units which eventually establish themselves as  self-sufficient, autotrophic organisms.
This is why seed is referred to as 'physiological enigma'.
