Distinguish between 'rate expression' and 'rate constant' of a reaction.

Rate expression is an equation for rate law and it relates the rate of a reaction to the rate constant and concentration of the reactants.
Rate constant is the rate of the reaction when the concentration of the reactants is unity. It is defined by k.

An example of rate expression is:   Rate = k[A]a[B]b  for reaction   aA + bB       cC + dD

k is the rate constant.
