do bases conduct electricity

Hi,

Bases conduct electricity in solution. When base is dissolved in water, it splits up into ions. Due to the presence of ions, the bases solution conduct electricity.

 no

yes ,since they too have movement of ions in them , that is the movement of OH- ions.

hope it helps.

  • 7

that is movement of ions led to conduction of electricity

  • 3

no because they does not contains h+ ions present in them they have oh- ions

No.

no because they does not contains h+ ions present in them they have oh- ions,............. so they does not conduct electricity.............

aparna_14 is right....

Bases in water conduct electricity.....

In a solution conduction of electricity is possible only because of ions....

As,bases dissociate into ions....they conduct electricity..

Like,  NaOH + H2O --------> Na+ + OH-

NaOH is a base which dissociates or divides in Na+ and OH- ions....

I hope that helped u...!!!

If yes like it...

yes they conduct electricity because they have ions present in it......
