Do you agree with the Maharajs's statement , "You may kill even a cow in self defence". Did the king kill tigers purely in self defence?

The king's act of killing the tigers was an exhibition of his power, as the king his word was law and people would have to bend to it. He didn't need to kill that many tigers based on an astrological prediction, in any case, he could actually have expedited his death by his actions.
