Do you think that Amanda is sulky and moody ?

No Amanda is not sulking or moody. She prefers to escape into an imaginative world than listen to her parents' continual scolding and nagging. She fantasizes about being a mermaid and an orphan where she can find happiness and freedom. This gives her parents the appearance that she is pouting, but she is simply utilising her imagination to distract herself.
