Do you think that forgiveness is better than arguing ? Give reasons for supporting the answer.

Dear Student,

The play underlines the theme that forgiveness is better than arguing. Chubukov forgets to tell his daughter that Lomov has visited their house for a marriage proposal. Chubukov willingly accepts the proposal, Natalya is diverted by the topic and got into an argument with him regarding the ownership of the meadows. Later, when she is informed by her father about it, she forgives Lomov and tries to begin the conversation afresh. Therefore, the principle of 'forgive and forget'  is essential to maintain cordial relations with our neighbours. Argument leads to discord and enmity, whereas forgiveness leads to harmony and unity. Forgiveness is a sign of maturity and large-heartedness.

I really think that it goes the other way round. As for me I believe that when you argue, your opposition if soft may relent and offer an apology. But if you forgive he/she might or will take advantage of your simplicity and do it again with the mindset that he/she will be forgiven.
Sometimes violence is the answer.
