Do you think the cells of an elephant would be larger than the cells ofa rat? Explain briefly.

no actually the size of the cell does not depend on the size of the organism. the number of cells would increase in the elephant but not its size.

The cells of an elephant would be the same size as the cells of a rat. The size of the cell does not vary form organism to organism, but the number of cells does. A larger animal like an elephant will have more cells that a smaller animal like rat, but the size of the cell remains the same.

The cells should be of different size because they should suit the functional and structural requirements of an organism, so the cells of elephants are comparatively larger than those of rats. For example. the length of a neuron of elephant is 3m which is longer than the length of the rat! So, according to me the cells in the elephant are larger than those of rats.
