Does equality and diversity work together ? Explain ?
Dear Student,
a. Social diversity on the basis of caste, creed, religion, language is characteristic feature of every society
b. Peace and stability of any society/country is dependant on how it is reflected and expressed.
c. It is important that diversity must be respected and accommodated.
d. The very idea of diversity demand equality and equal respect to maintain harmony.
e. For example , India is a multi religious country and has adopted the principle of Secularism to ensure equal respect for all religions and to ensure that there is no discrimination on the basis of religion.
f. Such a principle certainly forms the foundation of a peaceful democratic society
g. Similarly, differences on the basis of caste were dealt by abolishing untouchability, by providing right to equality
h. Diversity can be respected by adhering to the principle of equality.
