Does the acceleration produced in a freely falling body, depend on the mass of the body ?
- The acceleration of a freely falling body is equal to g, which is known as acceleration due to gravity.
- The expression for acceleration due to gravity is g = G M / R^2, where 'G' is universal gravitational constant, 'M' is mass of the earth, and 'R' is radius of the Earth
- From the above expression, it is clear that the acceleration of a freely falling body is independent of mass of the body, but depends on mass of the planet.
