Does the sky appear blue due to atmospheric refraction or scattering of light ??

Dear student, The sky appears blue due to a phenomenon called Scattering Of Light As blue colour is present in sunlight in a higher proportion than other colours, it gets scattered upon entering the atmosphere and the sky appears blue. Regards
